GEORGES DOLA LA MAZOURKA BLEUE. Circa 1929.
461/2x311/4 inches. Atelier Dola, Paris.
Condition B+: horizontal folds; minor creasing in margins. Paper.
A predominantly blue image of a young woman in traditional Polish wedding clothing, including a jeweled veil and an embroidered turquoise gown, leaning back dramatically into the arms of her future husband who is dressed lavishly in a red suit and a tall white hat; lettering in blue. "Le Mazourka Bleue," an operetta written by Leo Stein and Bela Jenbach in 1920, concerns the wooing and winning of a wary bride-to-be in the face of her suitor's colorful past.
