Tait worked for the publicity department of the Indian State Railways, for whom he designed over a dozen posters and other publicity materials. This, his personal scrapbook, was put together during the early 1930s. Contents include: illustrations, other drawings and poster studies (in black and white and color); typed poems (perhaps written by Tait); 10 railway poster stamps bearing his designs (including some duplicates); a typed, 3 page diary of a war-time event and other type-script pages; loose photographs - portraits, group shots, Indian landmarks, photo postcards (one signed "Gerald"), landscapes and street scenes; a copy of the London Illustrated News, December 20, 1930, containing the article "Light and Shade of Indian Architecture: Shrines of a Changing Empire Portrayed in 'Woodcut' Style," illustrated by Tait, and 5 original pen and ink drawings of the "woodcut" style Indian landmarks (of the 8 illustrated in the article).
