Gerald Williams was a founding member of the art collective AfriCOBRA in 1968. Wake Up is the largest of the six screenprints published and printed by AfriCOBRA in 1971. Other impressions of this work are in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum and the Tate Modern, London.
