Additional Details

Between 1913 and 1920, Wegener was the main illustrator for Gyraldose, an antiseptic feminine hygiene product. The mixture of thymol and trioxymethylene with aluminum sulphate was the Vagisil of its day. Wegener's sexy and fashionable women in the advertisements helped make the consumer in need of the product feel more feminine and empowered.
