Exhibited: "A Shimmering of Grey," Galerie Juliette Jongma, Amsterdam, September 15–November 3, 2007.

According to the Galerie Juliette Jongma, Counter Composition II is a mirrored mobile that takes its form from the construction of a painting by Theo Van Doesburg. Kruip's (born 1970) mobile transforms Van Doesburg's into a reflection, which is perpetually projected through the gallery. Based on the principles of De Stijl, the original painting attempted to find forms through which a universal truth could be grasped. Here, that ‘universal truth' is animated not as a contained truth but as a constant movement that is merely a reflection of its surroundings."
