Additional Details

Only these four plates were produced out of a planned 20, envisioned to illustrate Sir John Dalrymple's propaganda pamphlet of the same general title in 1798. Dalrymple's descriptions from which Gillray based his cartoons are etched below each plate. A mixed set, but rarely offered complete. BM Satires 9180-9183.
