first edition, presentation copy to ed white and his wife with ginsberg's elaborate ink drawing with stars, the moon and the seeing sunflower on the facing page. "For Ed & Ann White -for old and new times' sake- Allen Ginsberg, 4/14/85 via Jamie's Tattered Cover, Denver." Ed White was part of the 1940s Columbia University milieu that included William Burroughs, Jack Kerouac and Ginsberg. In addition to his friendship with Ginsberg, White maintained an epistolary friendship with Kerouac until the writer's death in 1969.
