Carpanetto studied art at the Albertina in Turin. In addition to painting he was also an accomplished lithographer, and one of Italy's first poster artists -- designing his first poster in 1887. In 1899 he designed the poster to advertise Fiat's first automobile, and went on to design over twenty posters throughout his career, the majority of which were almost entirely for exhibitions around Turin. His allegorical images are depicted in a classic, Liberty style. This exhibition was a combination of patriotic Italian (celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Statuto--the constitution granted to Italians under King Charles Albert of Sardinia) - as well as an exhibition of electricity. rare
