Black chalk with white heightening on cream laid paper. 405x295 mm; 16x115/8 inches. With a study for the head of Bacchus in black chalk, verso. Eagle with the letter M watermark. Restored loss lower right on the boy's back.

Based on the drawing, circa 1730s, at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, formerly in the collection of Sir Robert Witt.
