GIOVANNI D. TIEPOLO
(Venice 1724-1804 Venice)
Six Flying Putti.

Pen and brown ink and wash on cream laid paper. 214x277 mm; 8 1/2x10 3/4 inches. Partial anchor in a circle watermark.

Provenance: Probably from the Beauchamp Album, sold Christie's, London, 1965; private collection, Connecticut.

George Knox has confirmed the attribution to Tiepolo on the basis of a photograph. He places the drawing among a series of studies of angelini likely dating from around 1767-70, many of which were included in the Beauchamp Album, sheets of which were sold at Christie's, London, 1965.
