Etching, circa 1530. 317x240 mm; 12½x9½ inches. First state (of 2), before the reduction and reworking of the plate. With thread margins upper and right edges, trimmed on the plate mark below and left, small restored corner loss lower left and scattered skinning, additions in ink on several of the figures, backed with cream laid paper. A fine impression of this scarce, early print.
We have found only 3 other impressions of this print at auction in the past 20 years. Another impression of the first state, lacking part of the upper and lower image, sold at Swann, November 9, 2000, sale 1877, lot 148. Bartsch 5.
