The recto of the current work has the careful finish of a drawing intended to be copied for a print, yet the verso is more open in its handling. There are a number of prints after Crespi and for one, The Resurrection of Christ<>, the artist's own preparatory drawing survives. At this time, however, neither part of the current drawing can be related to a known print or commission which was designed or executed by the artist.
