GIUSEPPE VINCENTI (ATTRIBUTED TO NICOLAY DIULGHEROFF)

WATT RADIO: TORINO. 1933.

39½x27½ inches, 100¼x69¾ cm. Roggero & Tortia, Turin.
Condition A-: minor creases in margins; minor restoration and scuffing along vertical and horizontal folds. Framed.

Originally designed in 1931, this image for an Italian radio brand was so popular that the company reused it during the 1930s. The first printing included neither the word "Torino" nor the artist's signature, "Diulgheroff," in the upper left corner. It is believed that this name was added, presumably in the 1980s, to increase the market value of the poster. The Art Deco, anthropomorphic radio tube is a powerful image of a radio capable of great volume.
