A sweeping view of the Gleneagles Hotel, with guests playing golf and walking the grounds. Opened in 1924, Gleneagles Hotel was refered to as "a Riviera in the Highlands." Built by the former Caledonian Railway Company (the hotel had its own private railway station), it offered riding, shooting, and falconry in addition to world-class golf courses.
