GOREY, EDWARD. AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED, Autograph Postcard, and a Typed Letter, all Signed "Edward Gorey." The first two addressed to Miss Stephanie von Buchan of Larkspur, California. The postcard, stamped 18 June 1972 asks "`Abimelek' rather that what. But even more so, where?" The letter, dated 17 March 1972, reveals he was referring to Meyerbeer's orchestral work Abimelech and writes "What I DO want to see is a production of le Prophet with the ballet on roller skates . . ." and amusingly signs off "Au Reservoir." 1 page, 8vo, on yellow paper, unevenly toned. The TLS is to Ms. Rita Golden of the New York City Ballet, requesting an address change to his Barnstable post office box for his subscriptions, Barnstable, 19 March 1984, with postmarked envelope.
