GOREY, EDWARD. AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED, Autograph Postcard, and a Typed Letter, all Signed "Edward Gorey." The first two addressed to Miss Stephanie von Buchan of Larkspur, California. The postcard, stamped 18 June 1972 asks "`Abimelek' rather that what. But even more so, where?" The letter, dated 17 March 1972, reveals he was referring to Meyerbeer's orchestral work Abimelech and writes "What I DO want to see is a production of le Prophet with the ballet on roller skates . . ." and amusingly signs off "Au Reservoir." 1 page, 8vo, on yellow paper, unevenly toned.
