Les Douze Mois de 1889 as published in Vol. 9, No. 425 of Les Hommes d'Aujourd'hui. 24 Gillotage chromotype calendar plates with zodiacal and botanical motifs by Grasset: 12 with decorative borders only, the other 12 with calendar text printed within. 4to, rebound in 3/4 red cloth over marbled boards, gilt calf spine label, scuffed; original wrappers with colored illustration by Paul Berthon (who also wrote the introductory text) plus an additional gilt-lettered brown cloth covers bound in but a bit shaken; custom green and tan linen clamshell box with gilt-lettered green calf spine label. first and only edition of grasset's lovely art nouveau calendar in book form with each plate listing the days and Saints' days of the month within a different floral and ornamental border incorporating the appropriate zodiac sign.
