Additional Details

Includes a small 11-line manuscript fragment by Gray laid down on a front fly-leaf; the fragment is discussed in a tipped-in letter from Mr. Frederickson to Robert Hoe: "I enclose for your acceptance a small, but genuine fragment of MS. by the Immortal Author of an 'Elegy in a Country Churchyard'—it seems to be definitions of Provincial words used in some portion of 'Merry England.' " And with an ALS from Bedford concerning the binding tipped-in.
