GREEN, GREGORY. Book Bomb #0 (Webster's Dictionary). Unique artist's book. An assemblage utilizing a Webster's Third New International Dictionary, the covers, dust jacket and first 170 pages undisturbed, the remainder of the text cut-out and replaced with a hidden (non-working, deactivated, not-workable, ersatz, etc.) pipe-bomb with batteries, electrical wires, and numerous screws and bolts glued down; the fore-edge of the book has an attached wooden slat with unpeeled adhesive strips, designed to adhere to back of book case and trigger bomb when pulled from shelf. Numbered 0 and signed by Green on the front flyleaf (with "(NY)" also inscribed). Additionally signed and numbered by him on a laid in detailed single instructional sheet on his letterhead. One of a series of provocative constructions Green produced in the mid-90s using hidden (inert) explosives in otherwise unremarkable found objects used as enclosures such as bibles, suitcases, etc. Self-published, 1995
