Tato's Futurist poster "elevates the tail section of an Ala Littoria aircraft to monumental status, aggressively thrusting the tail toward the viewer as the craft's orange vertical stabilizer rises majestically skyward . . ." (Crouse p. 17). The airline resulted from a merging of four others, and was the national airline of Italy, with Mussolini's support, until World War II. Crouse p. 16.
