first edition of this scarce monograph. inscribed and signed by guimard to georges leygues, then Minister of Education and Fine Arts, who would become the 87th Prime Minister of France. The Castel Béranger was Guimard''s first building project in Art Nouveau style and considered his crowning achievement. It was a block of luxury apartments built between 1894 and 1898 near the Gare de Passy in Paris and was the home of painter Paul Signac among other Parisian cultural figures.
