British artist Lipscombe was best known for his automobile illustrations, many for the publications The Motor and The Autocar in the 1920s. He was also a war artist during WWI, and created the 1915 posters Britishers Enlist To-Day and It's Our Flag. Lipscombe designed at least one other poster in this series, which uses the same typography at the top, titled It is Summer There - Tour South Africa. The Union of South Africa was founded in 1910 and remained as such until 1961, when it became a republic. South Africa's citrus farms were a significant part of its economy, and thus a perfect idyllic backdrop to draw in immigrants from England. This unusual, monumental format is previously unrecorded. We could find no other copies at auction.
