Eliza Draper Gardiner was an early 20th century printmaker from Rhode Island who was drawn to color woodblock printing. Influences from Japanese art and the rise of the Arts and Crafts movement stimulated artists like Gustave Baumann and Draper Gardiner to explore the technique. EDG was also an original member of the Provincetown Printers and is known for her depictions of children. An educator whose career spanned forty years, she taught at RISD with fellow artist Mabel Woodward.
