Gemini 3 mission emblem. A circular multi-colored cloth patch with the full names of astronauts Grissom and Young surrounding a Gemini spacecraft floating on water. Displayed in an 8x10-inch metal frame on a Typed Letter Signed by Mrs. Betty Grissom. NASA/MSC, 1965

Additional Details

The two paragraph letter says that the patch was an original made for Gus Grissom. The spacecraft was named "Molly Brown" because his Mercury capsule sank in 1961. NASA was not pleased with the name. Gemini 3 was the last individually named (unofficially) spacecraft until Apollo 9.
