Wendt wore this emblem on his launch pad garment during test preparations for and the actual launch of Skylab I. Wendt was stationed in the "white room" at the 320 foot level of the launch tower. He was the pad close-out leader for all actual manned launches during Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, and Skylab.
