A charming image of a rabbit, fox, bear, and squirrel racing to reach the finish line as referee mouse waits to call the winner and a team of spectator animals cheer them on. Dummer, who, like Harrison Cady, lived in New York City and Rockport, Mass, was an active and prolific illustrator for The Youth's Companion, The Boston Post and the Christian Science Monitor where his weekly adventure series, "Animal Town Aviators" was later published as two books.
