H. SCHUTZ (DATES UNKNOWN) BODENSEE-WASSERFLUG. 1913.
38 3/4x27 3/8 inches. Propaganda Stuttgart.
Condition B+: overpainting, minor repaired tears and creases in margins, some affecting image.
A call to attend an early German airshow specifically for flying boats taking place on the Bodensee (Lake Constance). The main event of the show was a 200 km flight to help test the endurance of new models to see which would prove most useful for the German navy. The strong, allegorical image is literally that of a man holding the power of flight in his hands. Three bi-wing hydro-aeroplanes are depicted, and the one in-flight appears to be a Curtis bi-wing model on floats.
