In the months following the establishment of Israel as a country Zim (incorporated in 1945) found that her major job was transporting hundreds of thousands of Jewish immigrants to the Jewish state. In the early 1950s the company began to refocus attention on becoming a passenger liner organization. Starting in 1953 the S.S. Jerusalem made six trips across the Atlantic (between Haifa and New York) every year, and in between she was used on the Haifa-Naples-Marseilles route, which is being advertised here. In 1955 the ship was renamed the Aliyah<>
