In the months following the establishment of Israel as a country, Zim (incorporated in 1945) found that its major job was transporting hundreds of thousands of Jewish immigrants to the Jewish state. In the early 1950s, the company began to refocus attention on becoming a fleet of passenger liners. Starting in 1953, the S.S. Jerusalem made six trips across the Atlantic (between Haifa and New York) every year, and, in between, she was used on the Haifa-Naples-Marseilles route, which is being advertised here.
