One of the characteristics that distinguishes Swiss posters from those in other countries is that painters were regularly invited to design posters, thus images promoting tourism, public events and even political organizations bear some of the most notable Swiss artistic signatures. Hans Falk's unique style is immediately recognizable in posters. More of an illustrator and painter than a poster designer, it turns out that his brilliant sense of layout works marvelously in the large poster format. Here with energetic strokes and vivid colors he applies his knowledge of graphic design (which he studied for a while) and comes up with two vivid peasant scenes. Olma is the annual Swiss Fair for Agriculture and Nutrition held in St. Gallen.
