A brown eagle, shadowed in black, is flying past the slate gray silhouette of the Reims' cathedral, followed by a fleet of similarly colored planes; lettering in dark blue. Advertising the second annual flying tournament at Reims the image "offers a lordly eagle as symbol of man's newfound supremacy in the heavens" (Villard/Allen p. 61), but can also be interpretted to represent mankind following mother nature into the sky!
