A rare example in oil depicting the titular character from one of the many popular Cady and Thornton Burgess book collaborations. This character was introduced in 1917 in the book The Adventures of Paddy the Beaver. The medium suggests that this was not intended as a book illustration, and shows Paddy smoking his pipe along the bank of a rushing stream with his woodland friends nearby.
