DISPOSITION OF PROPERTY IN HIS LATE SON'S ESTATE HARRISON, WILLIAM H. Autograph Letter Signed, "WHHarrison," to his lawyers ("Messrs J&S Smith"), explaining that he believed his deceased son [John Cleves Symmes Harrison] had intended to transfer to W.H. Harrison ownership of a ferry and lot for it on the Wabash River, requesting that they record the attached document appointing W.H. Harrison and his sister-in-law (Mrs. Carter Bassett Harrison) executors of his deceased son's estate [present], and requesting that the lot not be sold. 1 page, 4to, written around docketing on integral blank of 1 1/2-page document concerning his son's estate; staining from removed cello tape at folds (but text legible), complete separations at folds repaired verso with tissue, lower margin excised with scalloped edge, seal tear repaired with paper, holograph address on verso. ". . . I have to observe that I do not know exactly the Situation of my claims to the ferry across the Wabash. My late Son Symmes always gave me to understand that he had secured the ferry to me and had reserved a lot on the river for that purpose. . . . I authorize . . . either of you to make any adjustment with Davis . . . . I do not wish to sell that lot. On the other side of this sheet you will see a letter of Administration to Mrs. C.B. Harrison and myself of my late sons estate. Be please to get [it] recorded & as my agents . . . take possession of the property . . . ."
