New Zealand actively promoted her natural resources as "The Sportsman's Paradise." Not only were hiking, skiing and camping advertised, but "to further attract sports-minded tourists and stimulate hotel demand, the Tourist Department imported a wide range of game, including red deer, wapiti, salmon, chamois and tahr. Moose were introduced to Fiordland . . . while fisherman sought marlin and other big game in the Bay of Islands" (New Zealand p. 243). This image appeared in a series of poster stamps published in the mid 1930s and also on a 2013, 70 cent New Zealand postage stamp, as part of a series of twenty "Classic Travel Posters." rare. New Zealand p. 85 (var).
