first edition, later printing, presentation copy, inscribed by the author: "To Eleanor and Vive la France / Ernest Hemingway / Glamour House / 1939." Glamour House was the name that Hemingway gave the suite at Sun Valley Lodge, where he stayed with his then-girlfriend Martha Gellhorn in the fall of 1939. Includes an unsigned laid-in note maintaining that the recipient of the present copy was Eleanor Young, daughter of railroad man Robert Ralph Young and niece of the painter Georgia O'Keeffe.
