HEMINGWAY, ERNEST. ALS and Inscribed copy of The Paris Review. Typed and signed letter dated December 8, 1958, by Mary Hemingway, belatedly thanking their Idaho neighbor, Wayne Chatterton, for some apples he sent them (8vo, one sheet, recto only, matted and framed, one fold and light toning to edges). Beneath Mary's letter, Ernest Hemingway writes: "Dear Wayne: Sorry we were so late with our thanks. We enjoyed seeing you very much and I certainly hope we'll see you again before we leave. Work has been going ok. Best of everything to to (sic) and your wife. Yours always, E.H." As Mary indicates in her letter, they send along a copy of the Paris Review present here (8vo, original printed wrappers), that includes an interview of Hemingway. On the page [61] with the drawing of Hemingway, he signs and inscribes it to Chatterton and underneath the picture he writes "who's this?" with an arrow pointing to the picture and adds: "Papa."
