HENRI EDMOND RUDAUX (1870-1927) SOCIÉTÉ FRANÇAISE DES MUNITIONS. Circa 1900.
24 1/2x19 inches, 62x48 cm. Mabileau, Paris.
Condition A-: restored pinholes in bottom corners; minor creases in image; staining along bottom edge.
The son and student of painter Edmond Adolphe Rudaux, Henri Edmond's few posters all reflect his painterly eye. Here, for a French munitions society, he depicts a bucolic autumn afternoon, replete with beautiful foliage and fashionable shooters. A table ladened with shells and ammunition forms a diagonal across the image.
