". . . I did a test for Robert Edm[o]nd Jones as Joan. But it was a sample technicolor experiment. Nothing to do with Thornton--This was around 1935--judging by my haircut . . . .
George Bernard Shaw when contacted by Lawrence Langner about Saint Joan as a theatre project for me said he didn't want a WHOP American to play the part and urged The Millionairess. . . .
". . . I cannot remember talking to Thornton about Joan. And I do remember other talks with him--about dinosaurs when he was playing Mr. Antro[b]us in Westport. . . ."
