HERBERT MITCHELL (1898-1980) A small archive of approximately 140 New York City photographs attributed to the photographer. The group features a variety of imagery, including shots from the 1939 World's Fair, East River scenes including the bridges and boats, Yankee Stadium, Coney Island, a series of performances, Bronx Park, Flatlands Dutch Reformed Church, animals, sculpture and pottery, a couple nighttime shots, and more. Silver prints, the images measuring 5x7 inches (12.7x17.8 cm.), and slightly smaller, and the reverse, a few with titles in pencil on verso. Circa 1928-40
