Stoops (1888-1948) was an American illustrator who began his career just prior to WWI. Upon moving to New York after the war, he began working for Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping and American Legion Magazine alongside Harvey Dunn. By 1935, Blue Book magazine's editor, Donald Kendicott, commissioned Stoops to create all the covers for the monthly magazine. He was inducted into the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame in 2009.
