A student of Keller in Zürich, Eidenbenz worked both in Germany and Switzerland, opening a studio with his brother in Basel in 1932. A key artist in establishing the foundations of contemporary Swiss graphic design, Eidenbenz was extremely influential as a pioneer in the field of photographic advertising. This is an icon of modern Swiss graphic design for a graphic arts expo in Basel, with design, typography and photography all combined in an expertly daring mise en page. The poster gracefully presents printing presses and newsboys, immediately recognizable elements from the graphic arts industry.
