Folio, 307x204 mm, 18th-century calf gilt with arms of the Venetian doge Mario Foscarini (1696-1763), decorated paper endleaves, bottom of spine chipped, front joint rubbed, few scratches on front cover; stains in gutter of opening leaves and in blank portion of title, marginal dampstaining at end, repaired hole in blank lower margin of last few leaves, dark soiling over repair on verso of penultimate leaf, lower inner corner of rear endleaves wrinkled. Bookplates of the Italian statesman Giacomo Manzoni (1816-89) and Douglas Maxwell Moffat (purchased from Davis & Orioli in 1932, with their letter confirming the sale).
