Additional Details

Hills gained notoriety for his 1708-10 series of pirated editions of short works by Dryden, Rochester, Congreve, Defoe, Swift and others. Remaindered copies of many of these were reissued in 1717 in a 2-volume made-up miscellany with varying contents entitled A Collection of the Best English Poetry; see Case 294.
