Title within woodcut historiated border. 272, [16] leaves, including blank L8, with a3.6 bound inside a4.5. 8vo, 155x102 mm, contemporary Cambridge binding by Garrett Godfrey of calf over wooden boards with large horizontal panel stamps of Tudor rose and Godfrey monogram flanked by angels (front cover) and English royal arms (rear cover), lacking ties, small repair at bottom of front joint; title possibly washed. Contemporary ownership inscriptions on front flyleaves; 20th-century bookplate of G. J. Arvantidis. Cologne: Hero Alopecius, (June 1522)

Additional Details

The binding is a well-preserved example by the Dutch-born Cambridge stationer and binder Godfrey, who was active circa 1503-35. Hoffmann II, 334; Oldham, Blind Panels RO18 and HE31.
