ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT BOOK OF HOURS (HORAE B.M.V.) Illuminated liturgical manuscript in Latin, written in Gothic script in black ink, 14 lines, recto and verso, on vellum. with five miniatures in colors and gold within floral borders, and numerous small decorated initials in gold on pink or blue ground with penwork in white, including 4 merging into floral borders. 96 leaves. 161x120 mm, 16th-century calf with gilt Crucifixion stamp on covers, spine ends chipped, cover corners worn through, front joint cracked, cords intact; scattered stains, some text passages heavily rubbed affecting legibility, miniatures and other illumination generally quite well preserved, Hours of the Holy Spirit unfinished, with last leaf ruled but otherwise blank. France, circa 1450-1500
