Additional Details

first edition, excellent association copy, boldly inscribed and signed by houdini on the front free endpaper. "To Elmer P. Ransom, Best wishes from the author, Houdini [underline flourish]." Ransom was a contemporary of Houdini and one of the first Chautaqua magicians. He and Houdini harbored similar disdain toward self-proclaimed psychics and mystics. It is in this book that Houdini recounts his exploits in debunking several of these characters, and enjoyed a passionate ally in Ransom.
