Together, 3 panoramas consisting of 4 or 5 silver prints, the images measuring overall 5½x34¾ inches and slightly smaller, one on a paper mount 9x10¾ inches (22.9x27.3 cm.), with the title on print verso or mount recto in ink and pencil.

Tibbits was a San Francisco-based photographer who worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 40 years (starting in 1892). During this time, he photographed the American West, Canada, and Mexico, including landscapes, towns, agriculture, parks, and more. He is particularly known for images along the Sunset line, which ran from New Orleans to San Francisco.
