Two octavo volumes, edited by Joannes Antonida Vander Linden (1609–1664); extra engraved title, full-page portraits of Hippocrates and Vander Linden; bound in uniform full red straight-grained morocco, late 18th/early 19th century, aeg; ex libris Anselm van den Bogaerde (1776-1866) with his portrait bookplate by Audenarde J. Bevernaege Fils, printed in red, blue, green, and metallic (or oxidized) ink and pasted inside the front board of the first volume, with a signed inscription in Bogaerde's hand regarding the rarity of the book, price comparisons, and noting that this example is "superbe" and that it came from a sale in Brussels in 1853where it cost him only 30 francs, including the commission; 7 1/2 x 4 1/4 in.
