Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from The Imogen Cunningham Trust signed by Cunningham's son, Rondal Partridge, Trustee of The Imogen Cunningham Trust.
Imogen made seven negatives at An American Place in 1934 while she was in New York working for Vanity Fair. This photograph was first published in 1970 in her book Imogen Cunningham: Photographer. At the time she said "This is the best one, I think, it has that grim little look in the eye, you know, disliking everything, and everyone."
