Folio, 332x228 mm, contemporary Italian deep red goatskin over wooden boards with brass catches and clasps, covers decorated with outer border around frame enclosing center roundel, all formed by intricate plaitwork tooling accentuated with punches, top and bottom spine compartments restored, front cover detached, rear joint cracked, leather clasp straps worn; small wormholes through covers and beginning and end of contents generally not impairing legibility, occasional foxing or browning, soiling in lower outer corner of opening leaves, modern pencil notes on pastedowns.
