Folio, 303x202 mm, contemporary blind-tooled 1/4 leather over wooden boards with brass catch, lacking clasp, recased with top and bottom spine compartments restored and endpapers renewed, covers wormed; dampstain in inner corners and soiling on opening leaves, marginal dampstaining through approximately the last 60 leaves worsening toward end, early marginalia mainly toward beginning and scored inscription on first page. Additional Details

Fourth edition of the Latin version first published in 1469 in Rome. The only extant work by the Greek geographer Strabo (64/63 B.C.-25 A.D.), "this was the first attempt to write a geographical encyclopaedia" (Sarton).
